Report: 200 Kicked Out Of OZZFEST Concert In North Carolina
August 25, 2003Police forced 200 people to leave Sunday's (August 24) Ozzfest in Charlotte, North Carolina because of their alcohol and drug use, according to News 14 Carolina.
Thousands of rock fans invaded Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre Sunday night for the latest edition of Ozzy Osbourne's festival concert.
The show kicked off Sunday morning at 10 a.m. and lasted all day and into the night.
Most arrests were related to alcohol and other drugs.
"You know, you just get the same type of people that go to concerts," said Highway Patrol Sgt. Joe Mellano, who was working at the event.
"They enjoy concerts and just go there for a good time. We are just there to let them know and try to raise their awareness to keep themselves safe and have a little bit of respect for the other motoring public."
Police say there were no major traffic problems after the concert.
